What is Teach Copilot?
Teach is a new AI assistant built into Microsoft 365 Education, rolling out at no additional cost for education customers.
In one place, you can access AI-powered teaching tools to generate lesson plans, quizzes, rubrics and quickly made modifications to language, reading level, length, difficulty and alignment to relevant standards.
Here’s everything you need to know about Teach Copilot.
How to create a quiz with AI in Microsoft Teams
It’s easy to generate a quiz with AI in Microsoft Teams. Teachers provide basic details such as subject, age range, and topic, and Copilot creates a complete quiz using Microsoft Forms, which can then be shared directly with students or assigned through Teams.
How to find AI quizzes in Microsoft Teams
- Log into Microsoft 365 and select Teach.
- Choose Homework and assessments.
- Select Quizzes.
Note: You can also access AI quiz creation directly from Teams when creating an assignment.
Create a quiz with Copilot
- Simply enter the Subject (e.g. American Revolutionary War), Grade Level, Language and Description.
- Upload Word Documents, PDFs or OneDrive files. This ensures the quiz is based on what you actually teach, rather than generic content.
- Add curriculum standards to your quiz by selecting grade, subject, strand and specific standards. This automatically creates standards-aligned assessments.
Tip: You can further customise your quiz by setting the number of questions and a time limit if you wish.
- Select Generate and Copilot will create a full quiz automatically, including a mix of question types. You can review, edit, remove, or add questions at any time.
- Copilot may also suggest enhancements such as adding answer explanations, applying a visual theme or adjusting total marks.
Tip: Choose Practice Mode to allow students to work at their own pace and see whether answers are correct before submitting.
