What is Microsoft Vivia Connections?
The Microsoft Viva Connections Dashboard allows you to create adaptive cards that give users easy access to key information and quick actions in Teams and SharePoint.

Add birthdays and work anniversaries to SharePoint
- Go to SharePoint and hit Settings (cog icon).
- Select Manage Viva Connections. From the Viva Connections dashboard, you can manage and edit the cards that appear.
- Tap Edit.
- Tap the plus icon to add a new card.
- Choose CDB Birthdays and Work Anniversaries card.
- Hit Republish.
Customise the CDB birthdays and anniversaries card in SharePoint
You can customise the CDB birthdays and anniversaries card and change:
- Card size
- Card title
- Audience to target
Simply tap the pencil icon next to the CDB birthdays and anniversaries card to make any changes.
Add colleague birthdays and anniversaries
To get your colleagues’ work anniversaries and birthdays to appear in Viva Connections, you need to add them via the Viva Connections Dashboard.
Note: You need design access to be able to do this.
- Tap the Birthdays and Work Anniversaries card on the Viva Connections Dashboard.
- Select Manage Birthdays and Work Anniversaries.
- Select New to add a new item to the list.
Add the details of the birthday or work anniversary, including the name of the milestone, the person, the date and any attachments, such as an image of that person or a celebratory graphic.
Note: You can keep the birth year of the person private if they don’t wish to have this on display.
Once everything is set up, your colleagues should be able to see any upcoming birthdays or work anniversaries added to the Viva Connections card.
