What is CDB Class Cover?
CDB Class Cover allows designated staff to assign a teacher to temporarily cover a class, granting the right level of access to content, assignments and resources during a specific time window.
Some of the key benefits of CDB Class Cover include:
- No MIS changes required – Avoid delays and avoid creating unnecessary records in your MIS.
- Secure and auditable – Track exactly who accessed what, when and for how long.
- Fast, delegated setup – Give pastoral leads, cover managers or data managers the power to act, without needing IT admin rights.
- Automatic expiry – Once the cover period ends, access is automatically removed, reducing safeguarding and data security risks.
How to use CDB Class Cover
It’s easy to get started with CDB Class Cover.
- Open the CDB Portal and click on the Cover tab.
- Search for the staff member who needs temporary access.
- Select the relevant classes (up to 25) they need to cover.
- Choose a start and end date for the cover period.
- Hit Save.
During the cover window, that teacher gains access to the class resources. Once it ends, access is automatically revoked.
